15 March Coronial Inquiry - Ways to Show Support
The coronial inquiry into the 15 March 2019 Ōtautahi Christchurch Masjidain attack begins on 24 October 2023 and will continue for up to 8 weeks.

During this time approximately 600 family members of families directly affected will be visiting Ōtautahi Christchurch to attend the court proceedings and to support family members.

The coronial inquiry will be a difficult time for members of our Muslim communities and many will be grieving. The outpouring of compassion and unity shown following the events on 15 March 2019 was something that gave many people strength. The following are some ways we can show our support during this difficult time.

Ways to show support:
Show manaakitanga by making a donation towards meals made by the Share Kai Cooks Collective for members of the Muslim community gathering after Court proceedings.

Help create a visual reminder of our compassion for families by sharing a message of aroha on the bunting provided at libraries around Ōtautahi. Bunting will be collected and displayed for community members, after which they will be turned into Giving Seeds of Love cards. Read more.
